Hello from Jamaica!  I am posting from the lovely home of our Jamaican host family but you will not see it right away because there is no internet connection here.  There is also no air conditioning, which is not at all unusual in Kingston.  We were spoiled to have it at night during our stay in Montego Bay and we will be back there next week, but for now I am having flashbacks to 30 years ago when I was growing up.  We didn’t have central air then and I remember sleeping with the windows open every night.  The view here is gorgeous, though, as we are up on a mountain looking down on the city lights.

By the time you read this, I will be on my way to Jamaica on mission for a second straight year.  God has been faithful this week to allow me to take care of a lot of logistical things both at home and work since I will be gone for what amounts to 12 days.  I am so blessed to have a loving wife who is okay with me following this call and a job that allows me the opportunity to go “off the grid” for this long.

periscopeWell – Friday is the big day!  We will be leaving the church at 4:00 AM (yikes) Friday morning to head to Jamaica on mission.  There is a lot to do in last minute preparations both for the trip itself and getting things at home and work prepared for my absence of 10 days.  But I wanted to quickly post and let you know how you can share in this Jamaica trip and stay up to date with what is going on with our team.

IMG_1316It has been a busy month of June for me and July is going to be even busier, but in a great way.  On Monday, I mailed postcards to everyone who has sent in financial support for my music mission trip to Jamaica happening later this month.  As a small thank you to them, I’m giving them a code that allows them to download my new album for free even before it is released on July 10th.  Those of you who are signed up on my webpage to get updates by email will receive an email this Friday the 3rd allowing you to purchase the album a week before it’s general public release.
