Beasley's Blog Posts

scale-clipart_91-8136When I was in the process of writing songs for my “Champion of My Life” album, I decided to study some of the songs in the Bible. Now, when you think about songs in the Bible, most people immediately think about the book of Psalms. Psalms is referred to as God’s Songbook and so it’s no surprise that it’s the first thing that comes to mind. But there are songs throughout the Bible and one of the places where you see this is in Revelation. In the book of Revelation, we get a peek into what God is listening to in his throne room – God’s playlist, if you’ll let me use a modern expression.

Devotional Thoughts

466212-victoryEaster is coming “early” this year, which happens to put it right in the thick of what is known as “March Madness,” the national U.S. collegiate basketball tournament.  As fans of college basketball know, it’s called March Madness because you never know what might happen in these games.  And last weekend was no an exception to that.

grumbledThe other night I was sitting around griping about something.  You see, I’m an organized guy.  I like for things to run efficiently and I get irritated when I feel like my time has been wasted or something I’m involved in but not in charge of could be run better in my opinion.  So I started grumbling to my wife (who will patiently listen to me) about all of the things I would do differently if I was in charge of the situation.  And just to be clear, I wasn’t grumbling ABOUT my wife – I wouldn’t live long if I tried that, and besides – I’ve got nothing to complain about there.  🙂

Someone-is-waiting-for-you-on-thatI love taking those personality tests and quizzes that give you some insight into what makes you tick.  For the record, depending on the test I’m taking, I’m a “beaver,” an ISTJ, a “high D,” or a “choleric.”  Of course, none of these labels is 100% accurate, and a person’s personality is always changing over time (hopefully) but one thing that I’ve learned about myself is that I am a task-oriented person.  This means that what drives me is completing tasks and achieving goals.  Too often, I see people in terms of how they can help me accomplish those tasks and goals rather than focusing on their satisfaction and well-being like a relationship-oriented person would.
