spinning_wheelsAgainst my wife’s advice, I signed up for our church’s softball team this year. I played baseball and some other sports in high school and even played some church softball in the past without embarrassing myself too badly. What I didn’t realize until I looked it up recently was that the last time I picked up a glove was nine years ago! In that time, there appears to be a greater distance between my brain knowing what I need my body to do and my body being able to carry out those orders. One of the ways this manifests itself is in my running. I was joking with some spectators at the last game that I run like Fred Flintstone – my feet start moving wildly before I ever start actually moving forward.

Devotional Thoughts

revival-best-bestThis coming Wednesday, April 20th, I have the opportunity to lead worship outside of my own church at a local Baptist church that is having a revival service. For those that don’t know what a revival service is, it usually is a service that takes place over several consecutive days with the goal of reviving, or firing up, or re-energizing a congregation. Revivals also usually feature an evangelical focus – either a renewed commission for Christians to reach the lost, or a focus on bringing the lost to the revival service to be saved. Wednesday night is the opening night for this particular revival and I am so excited about starting things off for this church in worship.

Before we get into the blog post today, I wanted to share that my webpage has been completely redesigned so head on over, take a look, and let me know what you think. Also, if you are on Facebook, there is a Brian Beasley Music Facebook page. Do me a favor and throw me a “like,” okay? Finally, if you haven’t subscribed to these posts on my webpage, you can download my new song, “Victorious,” when you sign up.

Devotional Thoughts

466212-victoryEaster is coming “early” this year, which happens to put it right in the thick of what is known as “March Madness,” the national U.S. collegiate basketball tournament.  As fans of college basketball know, it’s called March Madness because you never know what might happen in these games.  And last weekend was no an exception to that.

Devotional Thoughts

grumbledThe other night I was sitting around griping about something.  You see, I’m an organized guy.  I like for things to run efficiently and I get irritated when I feel like my time has been wasted or something I’m involved in but not in charge of could be run better in my opinion.  So I started grumbling to my wife (who will patiently listen to me) about all of the things I would do differently if I was in charge of the situation.  And just to be clear, I wasn’t grumbling ABOUT my wife – I wouldn’t live long if I tried that, and besides – I’ve got nothing to complain about there.  🙂
