By the time you read this, I will be on my way to Jamaica on mission for a second straight year. God has been faithful this week to allow me to take care of a lot of logistical things both at home and work since I will be gone for what amounts to 12 days. I am so blessed to have a loving wife who is okay with me following this call and a job that allows me the opportunity to go “off the grid” for this long.
Although this is my second time going to Jamaica in connection with this ministry, this time we are doing lots of different types of ministry than my last trip. So while there is familiarity with some facets of the trip which makes it easier to prepare, we will be spending a lot of time on a completely different side of the island, helping with a different kind of camp, and putting on a Bible School – all of which will be completely new to me.
Last year, I posted a video of a song that I felt like was the theme for the trip. (Am I the only one who tries to put theme songs with big events in my life?) This year, my theme song is “Do What You Want To” by Vertical Church Band. “We surrender all to You, do what You want to, do what You want to, God, we love to see You move, do what You want to, do what You want to.” That is my prayer as we start this journey. Hope you enjoy it!
Finally, let me say yet again how much I appreciate your prayers and financial support that make these trips possible. Keep praying!
