Do you know anybody that is always chasing that next big thing? I know several people like that. They grab ahold of the latest fad or get-rich-quick scheme or hobby and they are really excited and happy – for a little while. The next time you see them they are miserable about their lives again. Or maybe some crisis has hit and they don’t know how they are going to get through. But soon they have found something else to give their life “meaning” and they are riding high again and then down and back up and down and back up on the vicious roller coaster. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
I’ve helped a lot of people over the years only to see them ride the roller coaster back down into the dumps. I know that the only thing that is going to stop that cycle is a relationship with Jesus, but most of the time I don’t tell them that. It’s easier for me to do something or give some money than risk getting them upset at me by telling them where the real answer to their problems lies. That’s what the song “I Know” is all about – this is me telling them what I really ought to tell them if I truly want to help them out.
He’s the answer for you, too. I know it.
